Architecture for healthier, more comfortable buildings — designed with people and the planet in mind.
Mission.
At Bub Architects, our vision is to create spaces where people and the planet can thrive. Homes that are dry, warm, and healthy to live in—with excellent air quality, strong energy performance, and architecture that feels calm, honest, and beautiful.
Our mission is simple: to deliver quality in everything we do—both in design, and in the experience of working with us.
Projects.
The Bub House is a compact 122 sqm family home designed for a city subdivision, making the most of views along the surrounding green valley. Large, high-performance windows bring the landscape and natural light into the living spaces, while warm timber floors add comfort to the clean, architectural interior.
Ormond House is a spacious family home set into a rural hillside, designed to make the most of its wide-reaching views while supporting the needs of a busy family of five. The two-level layout separates private and shared spaces, with bedrooms and an office upstairs and open-plan living, dining and kitchen spaces centred aroundfamily life below.
Te Kurī Cabins are a pair of compact holiday cabins designed to balance privacy with connection. Set into a steep hillside, the split-level design responds to the terrain while making the most of views towards Gisborne and Young Nick’s Head. Private decks give each cabin its own outdoor space, while a shared courtyard deck provides a place to come together.
Meet Simone
I'm Simone, a Registered Architect and the founder of Bub Architects. I believe good architecture should be beautiful, but also healthy, comfortable and designed to last.
